A lot to talk about!

Back when I was in Lit 1001, I heard it explained to me in a variety of ways about build-ups, climaxes, plot twists, and dénouement/resolution. But as of late, I think that this election is the most bizarre we have had in…well the…history of MANKIND!!!???

The clouds parted and the thunder rolled last week as Barack Obama descended from the astral planes of Heaven and deigned to grace us with his august presence to accept the nomination at Invesco Field in Denver. Thousands of fans—I believe that is the correct word for them—roared with hysterical and meaningless adulation at their messiah who had come to offer them handouts in the name of “hope” and “change.” But ultimately, the same-old/same-old happened at Invesco field…change, hope, and hoping to change. He puts on an enviable show, I will give him that. He inspires like the founder of a pyramid scam. Same speeches as before, on a yet larger scale.

The uniter, who votes to the left of Ted Kennedy when he is not voting “present,” saw fit to appoint an adult supervisor and wise-ass liberal nutjob Delaware Senator Joseph Biden, with his decades of experience in clinging to bitterness and antipathy towards people not like him. Obama was clearly trying to shore up support from people who doubt the abilities of nine-year-old Marxist theologians to be Commander in Chief. This pick was reactionary, but I must confess that I think people will not look to Biden on the Democratic ticket since he lacks the strange/taboo factor of a black President. He is filler who, in the minds of liberals seeking to rationalize their predetermined pick, will fill in doubts as to command leadership. I only wonder if this man is a gift to Republicans, given how much he shoots from the hip.

Then there is the story that really kicked me between the eyes; a swift move so unorthodox, creative, and unpredictable that not even a ho-hum Chicago politician could conjure an illusion of equaling it. This sort of out-of-the-box thinking mystifies voters and draws attention away from the one showing them the shiny objects, thereby injecting youth, vitality, and REAL change vis-à-vis an unknown face that counters Obama, who according to many pollsters, has overexposed himself and exhausted viewers.

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is the only VP out of the two with executive expertise, leading the most geographically massive, energy-promising, and one of the most militarily strategic states I the entire Union. She is a hockey mother of five, with a son in Iraq, and another son with Down’s syndrome that she wittingly chose NOT to abort (hooray for God and principles!). Sarah Palin is a lifelong member of the NRA and has bucked local politicians and established boys clubs to deliver reform to the citizens of Alaska. She even swept against an incumbent member of her own party, defeating then-Governor Murkowsky.

What I just stated there is REAL change, folks. Change defined. Don’t punish bad Republicans by voting in Democrats; just punish them by voting in better Republicans! If the Republican Party seeks baptism, Palin’s policies are the font.

Furthermore, Palin hunts the very elk that liberals say the pipeline will harm! Yes! A devout Christian…yes…yes…I like where this is going…! A member of the Steelworkers Union, she is FOR drilling in ANWR (she served on Alaska’s Oil and Gas Commission) and carries the experience of being a commercial fisherman… fisherwoman… fisherperson. Hmmmmm…

This race, folks, has virtually become the “political space race” of putting a minority into high public office, whether we want to admit it or not. And the stakes are a strong, independent woman who can put a black eye on the gunless, militant, fetus-murdering, feminazi bra-burner expectation of what a self-actualized woman should be. Palin exemplifies the silent tremor of women who feel that there must be more ways to identify with modernity than through the lens of Roe v. Wade. Obama has been running for President for the last 2 years and Sarah Palin is farther from politics as usual than Obama could ever hope to be, for women and for this country. With an 80 % approval rating and thousands back in tax rebates to the citizens of Alaska, we are seeing the results of a principled conservative who stands firm on her core beliefs and lets the benefits radiate. From the farthest province of the empire comes a true symbol of conservative reform. Every evangelical conservative that had reservations about McCain received a boost after Saddleback, but this is the red meat the GOP has been craving for over a year!

As for the upcoming debates, I believe that Gov. Sarah Palin can take Joe Biden; just ask Rick Lazio of New York. Despite schooling Hillary Clinton during the 2000 debates for the US Senate, Lazio came off as a brusque and chauvinistic bully, turning off women voters. That was his downfall. If Biden wants to pull any of his northeastern wiseguy antics, many Hillary loyalists are watching, and know what to expect. And blue-collar Palin should be ready for his union boss jabs. Reactionary… Palin was indeed. Not only to the forgotten Clintonites, but also to the Dems picking a Rick Lazio democlone to square off against Hillary’s cross-isle doppelganger. Palin’s effect on Biden’s caustic delivery will be that of peptic antacid. If Biden is intelligent, which he is not, he will wear kid gloves around her and neutralize his attack-dog forte. This will isolate the debate to McCain and Obama; and we all know how that will turn out.

I haven’t smiled this broadly in my heart in a long time. >>
