Dick Cheney is in a tizzy folks, and I must say I don’t blame the guy. Liberals’ view on terrorism and war has been unpatriotic (yep, I said it) and some actions have been outright treasonous. I am not speaking of all the Dems on this issue, but the underlying incomprehension of total war has permeated their psyche like a 60s artifact. Let’s face it: if we live in the 80s, Liberals live in the 60s.

Ruffling the feathers of the crat’s sanctimonious bray for civil liberties, the former VP was quick to point out that the new guard has:

1.    Expanded the wiretapping program they once lamented, additionally aiming inwardly on political opposition in the general citizenry in place of investigating foreign nationals. The new Justice Department has even wrangled for more latitude in wiretapping, much to my un-surprise.
2.    DHS adjusted the nomenclature of WAR to something as prevaricating as “overseas contingency operations” to prevent “manmade disaster.” Are we a terrorist nation for contributing to Global Warming, that being a man-made disaster? Their skewed moral equivalence is beyond the pale of humor—it’s sick.
3.    The Whitehouse has expanded the timetable in Iraq, despite running against Hillary as the anti-war candidate. Another reluctant admission from Obama about the success of the surge.
4.    Obama has resurrected military tribunals! I applaud him for that.
5.    Obama, on the 2nd day of office attempted, in bluster and pomp for European favor, to decommission Gitmo with no plan on how to treat non-citizens who do not fall under the Geneva Convention. The new administration, learning that the world is not stuffed with fairies and unicorns, has backtracked and sputtered on this fine and very critical point.
6.    Cheney noted that the NY Times will stop at nothing, like a ravening hound, for the bone of a Pulitzer. Even if it costs American lives and holds no value.
7.    There is the contradiction in saying that our lawlessness is fomenting violence, while at the same time pressing for the release of inflammatory photos to the world. If you believe that to be the case, why would you do that?
8.    What drives me up the wall is the phony linkage that people draw between the college pranks at Abu Gharib and interrogations at Gitmo. One facility sought counterterrorism intelligence, the other sought to cure the boredom of the Iraqi deserts through stacking some naked inmates.
9.    Obama has still reserved for himself the right to do what he calls “torture” to terrorists, rendering his claim of having to sort through the rubble of a desecrated legal process nothing more than a campaign slogan.
10.    The MSM is awash in the illogical notion that a kid joins Al Qaeda because they are angry over prisoner abuse, or for that matter the flailing notion in a liberal’s juxtaposed brain that terrorist groups have some sort moral ascendancy over the US. Like terrorists are in a position to preside in judgment over us! We slap jihadist thugs to save lives, while they hide behind Palestinian hospitals to blame Israel on live TV. There is no moral equivalency, yet to a modern Democrat…America is a downright mean county. How pathetic and childish! Jihadists are motivated by visions of conquest, anti-Semitism, and abject poverty, not prisoner abuse scandals.
11.    House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, third in line to the highest office in the free world--should Joe Biden divulge the undisclosed location to the wrong outfit--has again slandered the CIA and other dedicated professionals in a ratchet-up attempt that proves what a San Francisco moonbat she really is! Once again, there is a reason why the soldiers who defend our liberties vote 75% GOP.

The Democratic Party is divided into two camps on detainee policy. One small chuck, still larger than safety permits, does in fact believe a terrorist deserves Johnny Cochran and prisoner abuse is the cause of the USS Cole bombings. For reference, this is the bongo beater who would refuse war no matter how compelling the circumstance. The other ones are a bit more calculating. Unlike the first study group who see stars when Obama reads from a teleprompter, the second sees dollars and votes. So to this more Machiavellian crowd, all the bed-wetting over “the loss of our values” was nothing more than ammunition in a ploy to undermine a wartime executive, sans noblesse.

In a recent flip-flop, the Democrat-dominated senate repudiated The White House in its despicable push to bring these terrorists to the US. This must come as a disappointment to Rep. John Murtha, who wanted to receive them in an obvious attempt to bring pork to his district with prison expansions. Gee Murtha! Flight 93 has already cleared the land for the annex!

Yet in a larger critique of prisoner transport to the US, it should not be done. This is on account of the tumult of prison converts to radical Islam in the US, namely in black male inmates. Jose Padilla, convicted terrorist nabbed by US authorities, was originally converted to Radical Islam in a during a prison stint in Broward County, Florida for manslaughter. In the more recent foiled plot to bomb Bronx synagogues a few days ago, the apprehended home-grown terrorists were jihadi converts from America’s prisons! The Shoe Bomber Richard Reed was infected with the jihad bug in prison, and Ramzi Yousef and company of the 1993 World Trade Center Bombing were purported to start a trendy prison following with plenty of groupies in jailhouse orange. Over the Atlantic, Israeli prisons are a vast network of some of the most malevolent psychopaths steering their effective operations behind bars to supplement their actions on the outside. Do you want that cancer in middle Ohio!? Do Liberals really think that giving these highly-educated specialists a soapbox in front of the most captive audiences in America (both parties with their litany of grievances against society), is going to resolve a moral dilemma?

This is the way a liberal’s brain works.

Their reversal is cold comfort for folks seeking robust national defense, seeing as they were only trying to unseat a Republican president in wartime for political gain. Yep, that’s so much better than being hippies! I suppose it is better than believing in that drum circle BS they learn in useless coffeeshop majors like “Social Justice.”

The Democratic Party’s callow embrace of the methodologies they claim to detest is astoundingly hypocritical, no doubt a schismatic divide between the leftists who actually believe in the mantric opaqueness of hope and change, to the Community Organizer who just lost his virginity to the facts of life. They have visibly waved their true colors, and they are not the bold colors that our party now seeks, but rather the varying shades of yellowed underwear breezing from their flagpole. >>

Outstanding assessment!

Just as a note, I remember my lib friends lamenting the Patriot Act as the "OMG! it's the end of freedom!" My only response at the time was to comment on what the democrats would likely do with it. It wouldn't surprise me a bit to find that the Patriot Act was being used to track conservatives rather than jihadists.

I agree entirely with the liberal mindset sprouting straight from the 60's. I would add, however, that the original talking points were written in the Soviet Bloc, and continue to be repeated to this day.

Matt Ross,

You confirm my thoughts exactly... I recall my apprehension to the establishment of Patriot Act, it was never a concern with it's use by the Bush Administration for legitimate National Security purposes (it is a necessary tool that should be at disposal if used properly)... at the time it was being brought up for vote the question I was raising was "what if Hillary runs in 2008 and wins? How will she manipulate such a program for Personal/political gain?"... I never foresaw the even worse case scenario that is todays reality (A President who has had his own records sealed while exposing sensitive national security data, a President who believes it is his right to do as he pleases, a President who calls Americans Terrorists for exercising their Rights while turning a blind eye to the dangers we face from terrorists bent on destroying our nation)...

Yes, you're 100% correct, the 60's was absolutely the product of the Marxism and specifically the Frankfurt School's Cultural Marxism (today they call it Political Correctness, I assume they call it that because it sounds more PC than Communism?)... Hedonism itself is nothing new, but the 60's was the first time that I'm aware of which promoted hedonism as a means of political/cultural warfare (this is why we need to maintain a clear definition of Liberty, the semantics of Liberty after the 60's has brought into the conservative fold a generation (or two) of fringe "do as you please/instant gratification" individuals, which neglect the self sacrifice required to sustain a working social contract which benefits our society as a whole (regretfully I myself have in the past been one of the worst violators of the moral standard I believe necessary to the securing of freedom, I must recognize this daily, dust myself off and press forward... There is no repentance in turning back to the mindset perpetrated upon our culture by the 60's Marxist invasion, which had been planned for decades beforehand)...

Great points you brought up, this is exactly the type of discussion that will educate people on the challenges we face, if we plan on preserving our Constitution and Winning the War against Tyranny!

Draking Point,

Another awesome Draking Point presentation, right on target with all the points you brought up... again you have clearly stated much of what I was already thinking, this is not merely intuitive, it is conclusions drawn from the fundamental logic inherent to Conservatism...

God Bless,
Jonny

I personally do not have a problem with wiretapping so long as it is not politicized--overseen by both parties. We have used it against organized crime in decades past.

It should not be directed to political opposition.

Hey, thanks for listening!
