Dick Cheney is in a tizzy folks, and I must say I don’t blame the guy. Liberals’ view on terrorism and war has been unpatriotic (yep, I said it) and some actions have been outright treasonous. I am not speaking of all the Dems on this issue, but the underlying incomprehension of total war has permeated their psyche like a 60s artifact. Let’s face it: if we live in the 80s, Liberals live in the 60s.

Since the recent election of 08, and the Liberal sweep of Congress, anger has mounted in my mind over the baseless charges over why the GOP lost, and what we should become to accommodate the challenges of the new century. To me, it is critical to isolate the reasons we lost, and not be guided by falsehoods, such as conservatism itself being outmoded. People have said that to no avail since the 1930s.

For some time, it had been a ritual of Ricky (my best friend) and I to visit Athens, GA. There, we would fire off rounds, view a theatrical play, and then discuss it afterwards over sampler beers at Copper Creek Brewery. To give you a background, Ricky is a true bohemian…gypsy to the core and full of existential angst. He reads Nietzsche, Sartre, and Camus in addition to the Classical Greeks.
